Why I choose to study Japanese

My first exposure to the Japanese language was when I started watching Japanese Anime 5 years ago. Since then, I had developed an interest in Japanese culture, especially folk culture.

My favorite Japanese writer is Kyoogoko Natsuhiko. I always felt that there is a lot to learn about folk culture from tales and myths, and was sometimes fascinated by the similarity in folk tales of mainland China and that of Japan.

I hope that through learning Japanese, I can develop a better understanding of folk culture both in China and Japan.
